Walter Huth

Designer, Builder, and Chief Worm-Sitter

Walter Huth (shown here reeling in the big ones with grandson, Joshua) is a lifelong woodworker and fisherman. Taking the direct approach in life means his bait of choice is the humble, yet timeless, NIGHTCRAWLER.

But every container Walter tried for keeping and carrying worms - from pricey foam cases to repurposed coffee cans - fell short for one reason or another. Routine knocking into the side of the boat leaves holes, dents, or chips. Cleaning them out is often a pain. They're unwieldy and fragile. They rust or break down in lakeside weather. For years he searched for a better alternative. There were none to be found.

Finally, he decided to go to his home basement workshop and build his own! After years of thinking and designing, Walter produced the Crawler Caddy. "Too nice for worms!" is what his wife, Nancy, said. And it's become our company motto.
